  2. Bayani Challenge 2013 Experience

A few weeks before the big event last March 23-27, I’ve decided to join the Bayani Challenge 2013 in Bohol. But for this year, I didn’t go there as a participant — I was with the service team.

I was appointed Social Media Coordinator for the event at Antequera, Bohol, but because the network signal there wasn’t entirely reliable, I missed to post some [personal] updates, so I’ll just post them here through lots of pictures. ;)

  3. Bayani Challenge 2013 Unity Dance

Ten days to go until the Bayani Challenge 2013! Are you excited? ‘Coz I am! It’s gonna be my 3rd time to join this week-long event (I’m gonna be in Bohol), and with that goes my 3rd unity dance! The steps are pretty simple and easy to follow. If you’re joining the event, be sure to master this as we will be dancing it everyday (and maybe find rectangular sleeping bags to use in camping)! :D

If you haven’t registered yet, go ahead and visit the BC 2013 registration site. ;)

  4. 10th Gawad Kalinga Builders Camp

Being part of the event organizers isn’t that easy, especially when you still have to scout for participants for the event. And it gets frustrating when you find out that some are backing out on the last minute. But despite that, we still pushed through with the 10th Gawad Kalinga Builders Camp at San Miguel GK Village in Maguikay last March 1 to 3 (Friday night to Sunday morning).

On the first night, I met up with our few participants at the mall before going to the GK site. When we got there, I was glad that there were a few other organizers present to help us with the activities. We had some self introductions, then we created groups for the flag making and The Tallest Tower team building activity. The three groups formed were Bonakids, Team Kyu, and Teaman-e — 1 participant team and 2 service teams.

  6. Bayani Challenge & GKabarkada

I first joined the Bayani Challenge last 2011 in Bantayan Island (shortly after my graduation). I didn’t have a close friend in my team back then. I just got acquainted with almost all of them during our meetings and on the event itself. But I didn’t hesitate in joining the team from my university. In fact, I was so excited to make new friends! And the Bayani Challenge served as the water to our friendship plant ‘coz after a week of heroism and casual bonding, the GKabarkada was born. :)
