Maribago Bluewater Summer Blowout
As the new president of our Industrial Engineering Council, I have been thinking about our acquaintance party for the incoming school year. For us, it’s the biggest and most hassle-filled activity ‘coz it involves all the batches of the course. And it’s really not easy organizing such event. Anyway, the first thing that got us concerned about the party was the venue. My friends and I were thinking of a place that we haven’t held our acquaintance party in yet. And the first place that crossed our minds was Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. Honestly, I’ve never been to the place. But I’ve already heard a lot of good feedback about the resort. That’s why I wanted to see how true it is. Good thing Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort will be holding a summer blowout this coming May 16, 2009, and all the bloggers from Cebu are invited! And it’s for free! Yay! Finally, I’ll be able to dip in its white sand beach and dine at the Allegro Restaurant! Isn’t that cool?
The Cebu Bloggers Society is invited to this event, and I’m happy to be able to spend my time with them again for a fun-filled activity! If you’re a blogger from Cebu and haven’t joined CBS yet, please do! Then visit PinoyWorld for more info about this summer blowout. You might also want to visit the Maribago Bluewater blog to know more about their events and promos.

Political Science
Ever since I was a child, I’ve never been into politics. It’s one of the things that never got me so interested. Whenever they talk about politics at school or anywhere else, I just listen but never get to internalize it that much. Even so, it doesn’t mean that I don’t know anything about politics at all. Sometimes, when the topic gets so hot, I can’t help it but get interested after all!
I have a friend who’s taking up BS Political Science in college. I wonder how he decided about that. Maybe it’s really just his interest? And maybe I’m just being too biased for wondering? Anyway, I just can’t be ignorant about politics and stuff forever. That’s why even though my course is nowhere near political science, I still want to acquire some political science textbooks just so I wouldn’t be behind. And so that I’d stay current. It really pays when you’ve got knowledge about what’s happening around you.
Being an Ethical Hacker
One of my dreams when I was a child (and I think until now) is to be a hacker. Actually, you’ve got a lot of advantages when you have all the knowledge about computers. You could manipulate a system. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is illegal when it could do some harm already. It’s considered a felony. But there’s a kind of hacking that is legal, and it is called Ethical Hacking. It is legal because it is done by request and under a contract between an Ethical Hacker and an organization. The important thing is that an Ethical Hacker has authorization to probe the target.
Ever heard of the saying “counter violence with violence” (or something like that)? Ethical Hacking is actually in that context, but in a good way. Simply put, it’s not violence. It’s more like “it takes one to know one”, meaning, you’ve got to think like a hacker to be able to protect your system from them. I’m no IT expert but according to what I’ve read online, IT Security salaries are on the rise. Why? It’s because hacking is very rampant nowadays. With that, organizations that will be hiring Certified Ethical Hackers will increase.
Look how Ethical Hacking could improve the security of an organization’s system. To know more about it, enroll with EC-Council and they’d train you to make you fit to be called a Certified Ethical Hacker.
