Simplifying and removing the clutter is a good way to promote enjoyment of the things that matter, for example, the simpler and finer things in life. And in your case, the content in your blog. I also chose to have a simple layout for my blog instead of the magazine style layouts that offer too much information that readers hardly get to read what the content is all about.
