Pyrofest 2011
Pyrofest 2011, the 3rd Sinulog fireworks competition, happened last January 15, 2011, and the Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. was invited to cover the event. 
This is the 2nd time I’ve witnessed this competition (the 1st during Pyrofest 2010, hehe), and as expected, different people flocked SM City Cebu‘s Northwing (outside, of course). 
Eight manufacturing groups from all over the Philippines converged for this pyrotechnic showdown. They’re the following:
- Delumpa Fireworks, Iloilo City
- St. Michael Fireworks Manufacturing, Sta. Maria, Bulacan
- Sky Glitters Enterprise Fireworks, Bulacan
- Nation Fireworks, Sto. Niño, Baliwag, Bulacan
- DSS Fireworks, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental
- Digi Spec, Fireworks, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental
- Anisan Fireworks, Sibulan, Negros Oriental
- Pyro Haven, Baliwag, Bulacan
Personally, my favorite presentation was that of St. Michael Fireworks Manufacturing. 
I’m not sure if they’re the same group who won 1st place last year, but I’m pretty sure the champion was from Sta. Maria, Bulacan. I wasn’t that impressed with the other presentations because I think they lacked style. But that’s just me. Hehe. 
Anyway, here are some of the firework pics I took with my point-and-shoot cam. 
They still look funny (like last year’s pics) ‘coz I had the wrong setting and realized it halfway through the show already. Haha. 
Since I thought I really couldn’t get to shoot decent ones, I just decided to experiment. And here are the results:

Eight (one of Pyro Haven’s fireworks for they were the 8th presenter)
Starry Night. I think this is my favorite. Just because.
Everybody was surely excited about the results of the competition, so after a while of deliberation, the winners were announced. 
1st Place – DSS Fireworks, Dumaguete City (P125,000). They also won in the 1st Sinulog Pyrofest last 2009.
2nd Place – Sky Glitters Enterprise Fireworks, Bulacan (P100,000). They won first place in the 1st Asian Sky Wizardry Pyro-musical competition at Enchanted Kingdom.
3rd Place – St. Michael Fireworks Manufacturing, Sta. Maria, Bulacan (P80,000). Well at least my favorite still made it. 
Congratulations to the winners of Pyrofest 2011!

This is what I miss about your site.. the cool pictures.. haha I really wish that I could be as good as you so that I could take pics of the disney fireworks thang nicely.. haha the sea creatures looks cool :)))) and yayyy to the first place

But really, I’m not that good in taking pictures, especially of fireworks, and the fact that I only have a point-&-shoot cam. Hihihi. But thanx for the appreciation, though!
