Funky Bowling at SM with the Bloggers
The first and second time I played bowling, it was January 2008. And just last January 14, 2011, I got to play bowling for the third time! January is my bowling month, huh?

The SM Bowling Center invited the Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. to experience a different way of bowling. And what’s that? Well, of course, Funky Bowling!
I admit, I’m not really good in bowling. I’m kind of a gutter girl (I’m used to calling it the canal, though).
Funky Bowling just gave me a funny excuse to have my balls thrown to the gutter! Hahaha.
Oh, that sounded weird. But anyway, here’s a definition of Funky Bowling:
Rather than bowling the conventional way, players will be challenged to bowl differently as they will be given cards that would dictate how they are supposed to bowl for each frame. Employees/lane men will serve as referees to make sure that the players are following the rules of the game.
We were in pairs when we did each of the frames. I guess pictures would do more talking than I could, so here goes…

Have someone cover your eyes, then bowl.

Bowl backwards between your legs.

Sit Indian style and roll the ball.

Sit on the floor and bowl by pushing the bowl forward with your feet.

Lie down and bowl.
The other frames (just imagine them, hehe):
- Have someone stand in front of you, legs apart. Roll the ball through his/her legs.
- Bowl while on your knees.
- Bowl between your legs.
- Spin in circles 5 times, then bowl immediately.
Looks fun, doesn’t it?
I spent most of the time (when not playing) yehey-ing the gutter players and booing the hitters. Hahaha!
Everyone had a good laugh that night. We were even surprised when some of us won awards!
The others (including me) won the raffles. Yey!
After the Funky Bowling, we played the real game! I still sucked, but compared before, I’m better at it now. Hihihi.
It was an enjoyable night worth experiencing over and over again! I’m hoping for more Funky Bowling in the future! Pleeeaaase!
