Industrial Engineering Educational Tour 2010: Day 1
March 22, 2010 — the most awaited day!
During the last week of school, we were all going about how excited we were for our Industrial Engineering Educational Tour (this activity has been going on for a few years already). And it finally happened!
Shalee, Leslie, and I arrived at the airport 2 hours before our flight. Nonah and Johanna came a little later.
Shalee, me, Nonah, Leslie, and Johanna (cut off) at MCIA.
We checked in together. We were looking around for our adviser, Mr. Mayo, but we didn’t find him.
Anyway, we chose sitting on window seats over sitting as a group.
For most of us, it’s our first time on a plane, so it was pretty much exciting!
After the trip, I realized traveling on plane is not really my thing. It got me kinda dizzy, especially the takeoff, landing, and the turbulence in between.
It was only when we were about to go out of the plane that we saw Mr. Mayo at the back seat. Hehehe.
I was glad when we set foot in Manila already!
Shalee, Johanna, Nonah, Leslie, and me at NAIA.
We were the last group who arrived in Manila, a little after midday.
The Executive Express (agency) bus fetched us at the airport, and we went to the first company for our tour, Rex Printing Company, Inc. in Quezon City. They design, layout, and print educational textbooks and other reading materials.
One of their designers made us try the graphics tablet. I did, and I sucked at it. Hahaha.
Oh yeah, our tour coordinator was Kuya Jeff, tour guide was Ate Terry, and bus driver was Kuya Rex. Wonderful people!
And by the way, all their computers are Macintosh. Cool, huh?
After Rex, we had a late lunch at Tramway Garden Buffet.
Their food was really yummy, though I didn’t get to eat a lot since I still felt full after eating the late breakfast provided in the bus.
We then had a running tour around Manila, and we stopped over at Greenhills in San Juan for shopping!
I bought a pair of doll shoes and 2 funky pairs of earrings.
Dinner was at MJ’s Café Bar. Simple.
We took a stroll along Liwasang Rajah Sulayman and Manila Baywalk.
After all the cam whoring sessions, we had to go.
We checked in at A. Venue Hotel Suites in Makati.
The place was very neat and comfortable.
My roommate was Monna, and our room was on the 9th floor. We arranged our things since we’re staying there for four nights.
Monna decided to sleep at the sofa in the living room, so I had the bedroom for myself. I surfed the net and watched TV for a while before I finally dozed off.
