Take the Challenge
Quick post.
I mentioned before that my Ergonomics teacher invited me to apply for summer OJT in Timex.
I thought of getting some insights from my friend who had her OJT there summer this year. Just this afternoon, I/we got the chance to converse with her.
She talked about how she started and ended her internship there, and some of her experiences in between.
Listening to her, I was kind of swayed. Hahaha. Not really discouraged, no.
I just couldn’t imagine myself (yet) being away from civilization 5 times a week, 9.5 (or 9.6) hours a day, without being able to use my cellphone and the internet, for 2 months (or more).
How about my life? Wahahaha. Kidding.
I believe it’s the normal IE OJT (even in other companies where IE is heavy). There are just some minor differences.
Anyway, she admitted that though her tasks there were not that easy, she really learned a lot. A LOT.
It wasn’t a discouraging talk after all. Hahahaha.
She even encouraged me to apply for OJT there if I really wanted to have one that’s IE-ful. You get what I mean.
I’m not even sure yet if I’ll pass the test. Hahaha.
But I think I will apply there (and some other firms, maybe). If ever I’ll be fortunate enough to pass everything, I will take the challenge. I hope I can do it.
Why am I talking about this, anyway? It’s still about 5 months from now.
I still have our Feasibility Study to focus on. Major nosebleed this semester.

I think you should go for it.
It’s better to learn the hard way, than pass the easy way, right?
My OJT sucked because it wasn’t connected with my field. I don’t even understand why they placed me in a bank who does nothing but office work when I’m a Marketing student and I’m supposed to be out there on the field. LOL

I’ll do my best to pass their exam. If I won’t, I’ll look for another place. Hahaha.
