Let’s Paint the Town Red
Disclaimer: Don’t take the title too seriously or dramatically. This isn’t a bloodbath.
When challenges in school were at its peak (or shall I say bottom?), all we ever wanted was for all of them to end.
Scholastic requirements popping out successively, and even simultaneously, were just too much to bear (especially to the unprepared). Or am I just exaggerating?
To some, maybe I am. But to the Industrial Engineering students of the University of San Carlos who had to face the challenges brought to us by Operations Management, Ergonomics, Statistical Quality Control, Operations Research 2, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology, it may well be just an understatement.
Okay, enough about the argument. We all differ, that’s all.
October 12, 2009 marked the beginning of our semestral break.
After our last exam in the afternoon, which happened to be our final exam in Operations Management, I literally shouted sighed for joy!
At last, all the burden’s gone! For now. We are yet to know our final grades in our major (and minor) subjects.
We’re all hoping to pass. Who isn’t? As for me, I’m not expecting to be part of the Dean’s List this sem.
I have to admit that I lacked effort. I’ve allowed too many things, tangible and intangible, to get the better of me.
Generally, though I didn’t flunk my exams (well, except for two, with 60-65% passing grade), I didn’t get very high scores either. Or whatever. I still wasn’t motivated at that time. I only got the “IE spirit” during the last weeks of classes.
So now, all I’m hoping for is that I’ll pass all my subjects and get qualified for the next semester. I do hope my friends will still be with me.
Ayan, napahaba tuloy ang kwento! Hahaha.
The purpose of this entry is to actually document our sem-ender “celebration”.
The original plan was to have videoke at K1 Family KTV in Crossroads, Banilad. It then changed to movie watching.
But when some of us became unavailable after the exam, we didn’t push through with our plan. But Aimee, Shalee, and I still went to SM. We still didn’t know what to do there, so we just ate cream puff to pass the time.
We stayed at SM Northwing and made some scandal. Nyahahaha! Cam whoring scandal, that is.
Adhering to the principles of math, vanity, vanity, and vanity would always result to triple vanity (if quantified).
Eugene and Godo came later. We ate at McDonald’s.
After pigging out and laughing our heads off with our insane talks, we decided to stroll around (we obviously got our heads back).
Serendipitously, we passed by Let’s Paint somewhere in SM. And that’s when we decided to paint some figurines!
I’ve known about this thing for a long time already but it’s just now that I was able to try it. My hundred pesos was worth it!
Getting started. We were just looking at the next table because the other painters were almost done.

Me: blank, just starting, halfway, and almost done.

Done! I named the figurine Adrian. Why? There was an A on his cap. And I like the name Adrienne. But since it’s a boy, I changed it to Adrian. Hahaha.
Eugene’s, mine, and Aimee’s.
Oh, Shalee and Godo didn’t buy some figurines but they were there with us during our painting and talking sessions. Hehehe.
Since it was already night, I went home ahead.
Did they, too? I’m not really sure. Hahaha.
