Did you think Mr. Kenneth Cobonpue is a bee? :bee: He’s not. Mahehehe. He’s actually a renowned designer and the creative director of Hive. :sparkle4: I don’t really know much about this person. I first knew about him from my friend Bryan when he blogged about this guy. Hihihi. :hihihi: Too bad we weren’t able to meet him since he’s in Paris. :(

Last September 5, 2009, a few from the Cebu Bloggers Society (including me) had a chance to tour the Kenneth Cobonpue Furniture Showroom. It wasn’t too grandiose, and I liked the simplicity of the place and how the furniture were arranged. The Marketing Officer, Mr. Sylner Lopez, was the one who toured us around the place. He also explained to us the design and concept of each furniture, as well as the materials used in making them. Here are a few of my favorites:

La Luna Easy Armchair and Ottoman. The ottoman is actually smaller than the easy armchair. Sorry for the crappy cutting-and-pasting. :sweatdrop: Anyway, if you’re wondering why the collection is called La Luna, it’s because they resemble the moon. Just see their side or bottom views (don’t mind the legs). :moon:

Chiquita Stools. The one on the left has a backrest (duh). :duh2: There are 350 pieces of natural rattan poles sitting on top of a cushion, and those poles just sink softly when you sit on them. :peace: It’s comfortable. You don’t have to worry about the poles sticking your butts like mad.

Lolah Easy Armchair. If I was a stupid being (not that I’m not really XD ), I’d think you could attach some wheels on either side of the chair. :spiral: Good thing I’m sensible enough not to have thought about it when we had the tour. Nyahahaha. Silly. =| Mr. Sylner said it looks like a dented soft drink can. :coke: Am I correct? Did I say it right? Hope I did. ;p

Dragnet Lounge Chair. It looks like a hammock wrapped around a chair. Hihihi. One thing I find attractive about this chair is its color. I love red! It also comes in black, though. :P

Operetta Pet Lounge. Perfect for your cute little woofies and meowies (whatever animal onomatopoeia there is)! :dog: :cat: It’s better if you could train them to position themselves in there. But they’d just make their way to it anyway since I know they’d find it comfortable! =P

Stitches Coffee Table. I think the original configuration of the table is circular. And it could be transformed into a rectangular one by “opening” the circle. Hehehe. :sweatdrop: See the reverse transformation here. :hehehe:

Ima Bed. This would be one of my ideal beds because of the style. You could put some decorative lamps on either bedside. And maybe another person could sleep on the canopy? Hahaha. Just kidding. ;p

Everything in the showroom is actually worth blogging but it would take me forever to enumerate and describe them one by one. :nyahihihi: I’m just glad that I was able to sit on the chairs and lie on the beds there. :3 I thought they wouldn’t allow us to even touch the displays. According to Mr. Sylner, sulitin na lang daw namin yung pagpunta namin dun. At sinulit nga namin! =D

How we did sulit the place and furniture. Hahaha conyo! :wtf: Thanks to Jose for this pic.

PS All furniture pics and some information about them are from Mr. Kenneth Cobonpue’s official site. :)
