ASUS Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show

This coming May 23, 2009, there will be an overclocking show competition using the top hardware brands like Intel, Logitech, etc. at 2pm in SM City Cebu Entertainment Plaza. And the Cebu Bloggers Society is invited to attend! Weee! =D

Anyway, when I heard about the said event, I was like, “What’s overclocking?” Then a friend gave me an overview. But to get more information about it, I visited Wikipedia and looked the term up. Here’s what I got:

Overclocking is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by personal computer enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers. Some of them purchase low-end computer components which they then overclock to higher speeds, or overclock high-end components to attain levels of performance beyond the specified values. Others overclock outdated components to keep pace with new system requirements, rather than purchasing new hardware.

I’m not someone with a superb background about computers so I don’t have the slightest idea on how overclocking is done. :pc: So to cut down my ignorance even just a little, I’m attending this event! You, too, could attend if you’re just like me! Or if you’re a geek and wants to drool over what’s happening. Hehehehe. ;p

Foursome

Leslie, Jessa, me, and Aimee. :hearts:

I missed those girls (minus me)! It’s been a long time since we were together (last time’s not counted since it was only me and Aimee). :gawk: Finally, we met up at SM and had a lot of chika! As usual! :oo: We’re a very talkative gang, so pardon us. Hehehe. :ahehehe: Even though we weren’t complete (it’s hard to be complete especially at this time of the year), we still made the most out of our time for catching up! Each of us had stories to tell. Sabi pa ni Jessa, power daw ako kung mag-chika! Bwahahahahaha! Sorry naman! Nadala lang! :hihihi:

That was all we did. ;) Oh, we strolled around, too. But I think 80% of the time was all talk! :happy3: And we did the conversation at McDonald’s! Wakekekeke. :fries:

See you again real soon, girls! Uhh, enrollment for first sem? Waaahhh! ;p

Nury Vittachi

If you’re fond of reading Reader’s Digest (Asia), you probably know Nury Vittachi. Or not. :read: He’s the author of the Unbelievable! section of RD Asia. I think the column started last September 2008 (the time RD had its new look). :flower3: Anyway, Nury Vittachi’s column is one of the things that I look forward to reading every month (ever since it started) when we get our copy of RD. His writing skill is to die for! Nyahahaha. Or is it just me? Really, when I read his articles, I can’t help but think, “Whoah, is this guy human?” ;p Okay, stop the exaggeration. But kidding aside, he does write well. The way he chooses his words — just incredible! He doesn’t write in a formal or poetic style. Rather, he does it colloquially. :hehehe: But the one thing that epitomizes everything I like about his writings is his curious antics! :kyaa4: There’s not a time when I read his writings that my mouth wouldn’t twitch and crack a smile! And at times, I would even laugh out loud! Shyet! Shame on me! Mahahahahahaha! :kyaa3:

That’s all, really. I just wanted to share something about one of my idols. Hekhekhek. :P Read his articles in RD if you want to know what I’m talking about. Or you could read The Curious Diary of Mr. Jam. It’s his blog. And it contains more insanity than you could ever imagine!

By the way, his target are the Asians. He talks about them a lot. :)

And his complete name is Nuryana Samjam Perera de Lacey Vittachi. =D
